R. Kade Baird
About
Kade joined Skoubye Nielson & Johansen in 2024. Kade is a trial lawyer, specializing in tort litigation, general civil litigation, and construction matters. Kade has tried more than 20 cases to verdict, mostly as lead counsel and has arbitrated hundreds more with values from the thousands to millions of dollars. He has extensive experience in complex discovery involving medical, construction, accident reconstruction, failure analysis and other areas of scientific expertise. From 2012 through 2019 he served as an arbitrator and then a judge pro tem helping the 8th District provide faster resolution of cases. Kade practiced in Nevada for the first 16 years of his career before he came to Utah for an in-house position at Bank of Utah, where he led the Life Settlements business and handled hundreds of owner trusts for commercial and private aircraft.

Personal
Kade has spent his whole life in the mountain west. He has two children but now is an empty nester with his wife. He likes seeing his kids and loves running, cycling, cooking, music and comedy.
